This is a story which will transport you away to another world, in amongst the rich and famous, full of scandal and intrigue. Harry Hunter is what you would describe as a cad. He has no consideration for those he hurts as he goes from day to day trying to get exactly what he wants. In this book he manages to wangle his way into the lives of three friends, all of whom have their own issues to deal with. These women - Tor, Cress and Kate - are written brilliantly. I love how author gives each of the characters their own unique voice and ability to tell their own story, albeit bringing them together when needed. The depths the author takes these characters too will make you sad, happy, and shocked all in equal amounts. This was a read which allowed me to escape into another world entirely. I love that the three women ended up with exactly the endings I wanted for them as I read their stories.

This was such a good story, I was sucked in from page one. Just when I thought I had everything worked out there was another twist in the story. The story is of three friends and their interlinked lives, add in Harry Hunter, the latest hot author into the mix and it affects everyone's life in ways they could never have predicted. I liked Tor especially. I am a huge fan of Karen Swan's writing and this one definitely didn't change my opinion.

...in 2 nights, in bed. At this rate, my insomnia will become chronic! I rarely like every single book from a particular author, but Karen's are so craftily put together that I even have vivid dreams about the locations and the characters, and Players is no exception. Three friends, so unique, so different yet standing out so strongly and equally. And I love her male characters- if I didn't know better, I'd think they were written by a man. They are very real. The men in Players are not good or bad, they feel real, recognisable in their 'type' yet surprising now and again, just like real life. Lived it! No, that's not a typo. I didn't just love it, I lived this book!

If this is a first by this author it is not bad interesting settings lots of glamour escapism into the world of the rich and celeberity but Jilly Cooper it is not the characters do not remain in the mind for long nor do they have much substance as in the Fiona Walker type descriptions .It is however a more entertaining read than the usual chicklit or shoppaholic type of book around in quantity it is a fair substitute while waiting for Jilly Fiona and Catherine alliot' latest offerings.

I really didn’t want to put down this book as with most other books written by Karen Swan. This had many twists, turns, and tragedies. Although some parts were predictable, others were not. Each of the different characters flawed, yet relatable (except Harry and Greta) made it a book that I wanted to keep reading.

Loved getting a book from Ireland! I have read "Players" by Karen Swan and it's one of the best books she's written. Had mystery, romance, intrigue....very enjoyable! I am an avid reader and love her books.
