With Nikki, you can be sure of two things, great writing and the darkest of dark romance. This is by far her darkest book to date, and it’s not for the faint hearted, but it packs a punch in terms of emotional journeys. Will and Bryony are put through cruel, horrendous, twisted ‘games’, where the stakes are their lives and their sanity, and in this most unlikely of setting, they have to drop their guards and open up to each other in order to survive, physically and mentally. From harrowing to heartbreaking, the story moves at pace with no let up, don’t expect to put the book down before the end! The sex scenes are pretty intense too. Don’t expect flowers and balloons and get ready for a good bit of twisted domination (F on M, which is such a welcome twist on the trope). You may get away with reading this as a stand-alone, but I’d recommend you read all the Soldiers of Anarchy books in order first. Another dark romance classic from Nikki, who’s claiming her spot as a mistress of the genre.

Great entry in a strong series! There is a lot to recommend this book, from the fun (albeit twisted) central conceit to some good twists and great characters (Will 🫠) I don’t want to go into too much detail on the plot here, because I think it’s more fun to go in blind. But generally, our MMC Will has had it bad for Bryony for a long time but she’s kind of annoyed by him while also clearly wanting to climb him like a tree. That is, until they are thrown together in a Saw-style game of wits and death. I love Will. He’s like the perfect blend of sweet golden retriever man and alpha morally grey, ‘I’ll kill anyone who touches her’ man. Love it. I appreciate that Bryony’s responses under stress were probably very accurate but I did want to shake her at times. 🤣 But she and Will were sweet together and she had a great no-nonsense attitude that I love in all of Nikki J. Summers’s FMCs. I have to say, I’m kind of obsessed with Adam in this series (the MMC from The Psycho). He’s just so… ugh 🥵. Some of my favourite bits of this book were his appearances. I loved the glimpses we got of his past as well!!!

I read through this book then hit the bit where I was like.. wait.,,, whatttt. Noooo This hit hard. It was just everything and I need more. The Taskmaster though. I mean it’s not right at all but he needs a big hug and a story of his own. I need a month after this 😂😂 and a ton of coffee. Go grab these books 📚

Rating 2.5/5.I have enjoyed the previous books in this series. This book was strange. There were places where the pacing was too slow yet too fast. Bryony and Will’s romance was described as a slow burn but felt rushed and very insta love. I found the pace of the story too slow and it took too long for the secret/plot twist to be revealed. Will’s character also lacked depth and for an experienced vigilante I was hoping he would unleash some skills and ideas that would make him more menacing. His character came across as quite weak and lacked strategy skills. Bryony if i recall correctly her, her sister Shelley and her sister Katie had their own vigilante group - yet none of her skills were displayed and she kept making silly mistakes. Overall this book lacked depth, pacing was odd and there was very little character development. I will likely read the Thief to conclude this series. I was hoping for so much more from this book and feel let down.

it took me awhile to read this as I wasn't quite sure of the storyline, then I thought f#*@ it, I love these boys & their stories, so was slightly miffed reading this, but I understand the taskmaster's pain, I want to read his story, I did cry for him in this book, so pls write his story, keep up the good writing NJS

Yet another fantastic read by the fantastic Nikki J Summers. Ive been struggling with books keeping my attention lately but i had no trouble at all with this beauty! Dark, dangerous and drama filled we have a read that keeps you hooked into what will happen with Will and Bryony! I loved these guys, Nikki always manages to make me fall for her characters (aswell as usually really liking the bad guys 🙈) And this one was no different.. these guys needed to be together and to see how they worked together was beautiful, even if it was throughout hard and heartbreaking times. This series will always be on my re read list as seeing these bad boys as a team of brothers always warms my heart ❤️.

Well this was dark!!!! And scary lol, the plot was too good, i rarely have moods where i cant stop reading trying to get further into to the story to figure out who the hell is the villain and whats the story behind his games. On another note, i love loved loved Will Stokes and Bryony Masters relationship they are just goals!!! I love it when the FMC & MMC are frenemies and always picking on each other because they cant admit their true feelings to one another 🩵🤣 What to expect; Kidnapping Masked villain Dark romance Killing Strong FMC Funny & Obsessed MMC 5 starsssss all the wayyy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Eu achei a história super cansativa, está mais pro meio do livro e ainda não temos pista do porquê aquilo está acontecendo. Eu achei que o casal não tem química nenhuma, às vezes eu chegava a ter raiva e pular algumas partes pq a Bee era muito chata e repetitiva. As partes quentes eram mornas, nada especial. Por eles serem de uma espécie de irmandade que mata pessoas ruins eu esperava que o Will fosse mais durão, sei lá....não me agradou a leitura. Não teve nada nesse livro que eu consiga salvar como algo bom. No começo até fiquei interessada em saber mais mas foi ficando tãooooo cansativo que acabei desistindo. Bom, ficou como uma leitira perdida pra mim. Não sei nem se quero ler os outros, fui na pilha do booktok com esse e me decepcionei.

Holy mother of it all.... This story is everything. I love Will and Bryony and their story... But my heart is absolutely broken for the taskmaster... I really hope he will get his own story.. I know he is the monster in this story, but what was done to him has left him so broken, I can't take it. The way Nikki J. Summers has written all of this, is just mesmerising and absolutely mind-blowing and I'm totally here for it 🖤🖤
